Under the supervision of Bangladesh Tennis Federation "Shahjalal Islami Bank Victory Day Tennis Tournament -2024" is going to be held at the National Tennis Complex, Ramna from 27 December 2024 to 03 January 2025. Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC extended Title sponsor to the event. On the occasion of the competition, a media briefing was organized at the National Tennis Complex, Ramna today, 26 December 2024. Mr. Mohammad Yunus, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank and Mr. M. M. Saiful Islam, the Deputy Managing Director were present at the media briefing on behalf of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC.
At the event the Vice President of Bangladesh Tennis Federation Mr. A. Z. Khan, the General Secretary (Current Charge) of Bangladesh Tennis Federation Mr. Ishtiaq Ahmed (Curren), the In-charge of Public Relations Department of Shahjalal Islami Bank Mr. K. M Harunur Rashid and the First Executive Officer of Public Relations Department Mr. Nazrul Islam along with other officials of Bangladesh Tennis Federation were also present in the program.
There are 30 Clubs from different divisional levels, district levels and universities of the country will participate in the competition. The competitors will compete in men"s singles, men"s doubles, women"s singles, women"s doubles, boys" singles under-18 years, girls" singles under-18 years, boys" singles under-14 years and girls" singles under-14 years’ events.
In response to various questions from the journalists, Mr. Mohammed Younus, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank said that Shahjalal Islami Bank is constantly working for the development of sports in the country. In continuation of this, Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC is the main sponsor/Title Sponsor of the Victory Day Tennis Competition-2024. Tennis has not gained as much popularity in Bangladesh as in other countries. He expressed hope that with the efforts of all concerned and proper sponsorship, tennis, like cricket and football, will also be able to gain popularity in this country. |
